Abstract:
One hundred and twenty cases of infertility (84 of primary and 36 of secondary infertility) were studied. The commonest cause of infertility were tubal adhesions and blockage (35.9%). Overall conception rate was 15.83%. The present study shows that laparoscopy affords and excellent assessment of tubal patency. Findings missed clinically and on hysterosapingography were diagnosed on laparoscopy. Laparoscopy and hysterosalpingography are complementary procedures and not competitive.
