Significant immediate improvement in range of motion (ROM) was observed (P < .0001).
A temporary 48% loss of ROM gain occurred at 6 months.
A mean net ROM gain of 110% was achieved by 33 months follow-up.

Arthroscopic capsular release is a beneficial treatment for resistant posttraumatic shoulder stiffness.
