- To assess the potential of the system for practical, high-performance quantum communication.
Main Methods:
- Implementation of a decoy-state QKD protocol using a heralded single-photon source generated via parametric down-conversion.
- Utilized a one-way Bennett-Brassard 1984 protocol with a four-state, one-detector phase-coding scheme.
- Experimental setup designed to be robust against various quantum attack strategies.
Main Results:
- Successful experimental demonstration of the decoy-state QKD scheme.
- The implemented protocol proved immune to time-shift, photon-number splitting, and Trojan horse attacks.
- The system exhibits high tolerance to losses and a high secure key generation rate compared to other practical QKD schemes.
Conclusions:
- The demonstrated decoy-state QKD system offers a promising approach for secure quantum communication.
- The scheme's resilience to attacks and high performance make it suitable for future QKD networks.
- This work advances the practical realization of secure quantum communication technologies.
