[Side-lights of medical education in the GDR]

In two chapters some aspects of the medical study in the German Democratic Republic from a personal view are described. First, in the sixties of the 20th century political and economical facts affected the studies, especially after the construction of the wall in Berlin. At all of the universities in the GDR--here in Leipzig and Erfurt--the philosophy of Marxisismus-Leninismus was part of the medical education. Nevertheless existed a very good spezialiced study and a few old german customs. Secondly, a number of impressive and celebrated personalities appears--medical teachers until the examination.
