Diabetic foot ulcer location varies by cause: neuropathic ulcers favor the plantar toes/metatarsals, ischemic ulcers appear on toe tips, and neuroischemic ulcers affect both. Over 75% of all diabetic foot ulcers occur in the toe and forefoot area.
