  • To investigate the presence and characteristics of parathyroiditis in the non-obese diabetic (NOD) mouse model.

  • Histopathological examination of parathyroid glands from NOD mice.
  • Immunophenotyping of infiltrating lymphocytes using L3T4 monoclonal antibody.

  • Lymphocytic infiltrations were identified in 3 out of 12 parathyroid glands studied.
  • The majority of infiltrating lymphocytes exhibited a helper/inducer phenotype (L3T4+).
