Desmopressin increases IGF-binding protein-1 in humans

- No significant changes were observed in insulin, glucagon, cortisol, IGF-I, or glucose levels.
- The increase in IGFBP-1 was not preceded by a decrease in plasma osmolarity.
Conclusions:
- Desmopressin (DDAVP) administration demonstrably increases serum IGFBP-1 levels in humans.
- Further research is warranted to understand the clinical implications of this vasopressin-IGFBP-1 interaction, particularly in conditions with high IGFBP-1.
