Hepatic transit time in benign liver lesions

Hepatic transit time (HTT) is shorter in patients with liver metastases than in those with benign liver lesions. An HTT over 10 seconds may rule out liver metastasis, indicating further liver evaluation is needed if HTT is less than 10 seconds.

- An HTT exceeding 10 seconds appears to exclude liver metastasis.
- An HTT below 10 seconds warrants further liver evaluation.
- Benign liver lesions also shorten HTT, but to a lesser extent than metastases.
