Alcohol consumption is not protective for systemic lupus erythematosus

Alcohol consumption does not appear to protect against systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Individuals diagnosed with SLE are more likely to stop drinking alcohol, suggesting a change in habits rather than a protective effect.
