Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the prevalence of skin issues in individuals using prosthetic devices.
  • To identify factors contributing to skin conditions in amputees.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of 142 amputee patients was enrolled in the study.
  • Data collected included demographics, amputation details, and prosthesis type.
  • Dermatological assessments, stump swabs for microbial analysis, and patch testing were performed.
