Persistent and recurrent bacterial endobronchial infections, including persistent bacterial bronchitis (PBB) and chronic suppurative lung disease (CSLD), are often overlooked causes of chronic wet cough in children. Early childhood infections and impaired muco-ciliary clearance are key risk factors.
