The association between serotonin-related gene polymorphisms and panic disorder

Genetic variations in the serotonin 2A receptor gene are linked to panic disorder symptom severity. While not directly causing panic disorder, these 5-HT2A receptor (5HTR2A) gene polymorphisms influence how severe panic symptoms become.
