Partial glossectomy combined with temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) ablation effectively treats macroglossia. This safer, less invasive procedure shows promising results for improving tongue function and patient satisfaction.

Background:

Macroglossia presents significant challenges in oral function and aesthetics.
Traditional surgical approaches for macroglossia can involve considerable morbidity.
Evaluating minimally invasive techniques is crucial for improving patient outcomes.

Observation:

Four patients underwent partial glossectomy with temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) assistance.
A rhombus-shaped incision and wedge excision were performed on the tongue.
Post-operative assessment included mouth closure, bleeding, swelling, sensory function, and masticatory function.

Findings:

All patients achieved complete mouth closure without significant hemorrhage or swelling.
