[Volitional postural dyskinesia with hypertrophic neuropathy].

Background:

Voluntary postural dyskinesia is a rare movement disorder.
Hypertrophic neuropathy involves nerve enlargement and can be associated with various genetic conditions.
Understanding the underlying pathology is crucial for diagnosis and treatment.

Observation:

Two patients presented with voluntary postural dyskinesia and evidence of hypertrophic neuropathy.
Detailed clinical histories and neurological examinations were performed.
Electron microscopy was utilized to examine nerve tissue structure.

Findings:

Electron microscopy revealed distinct pathological features in the two cases.
One case showed characteristic onion bulb formations, indicative of demyelination and remyelination cycles.
