Nucleic-acid amplification testing (NAAT) of urine significantly increased the diagnostic yield for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) like Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae in an urban Emergency Department (ED) population. This method proved more effective than traditional complaint-driven approaches.
