  • Patients with reduced LV function exhibited a 25% decrease in EPCs (P = .07) and a 109% increase in EMPs (P < .05) compared to those with preserved function.
  • EPCs showed a positive correlation with endothelial function (r = 0.24–0.28).
  • EMPs demonstrated an inverse correlation with endothelial function (r = -0.42–0.49).

Conclusions:

  • Significant LV dysfunction in CAD patients is associated with increased endothelial cell damage.
  • A decrease in EPCs, potentially limiting repair capacity, may contribute to endothelial dysfunction pathogenesis in CAD.
