Intra-operative autotransfusion--a simple and cost effective method.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

• To evaluate a simple method for collecting and reinfusing blood in cases of hemothorax and hemoperitoneum.
• To assess the feasibility, safety, and practicality of intraoperative autotransfusion using an accessible technique.

• Autotransfusion was performed on 50 patients diagnosed with hemothorax or hemoperitoneum at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana.
