Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the feasibility and safety of robotic-assisted colorectal resection.
  • To assess the oncological outcomes and operative parameters in robotic colorectal surgery.

  • A prospective study involving 50 patients undergoing robotic-assisted colorectal resection between December 2005 and July 2007.
  • Patients primarily had colorectal cancer, with a smaller cohort having benign conditions.
  • Operative times were analyzed in relation to surgeon experience, comparing early versus later cases.
