Concurrent decrease in IL-10 with development of immune-related adverse events in a patient treated with anti-CTLA-4

Blockade of cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) enhances anti-tumor responses but can cause immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Decreased IL-10 levels after CTLA-4 therapy may explain irAEs in some cancer patients.

- A decrease in plasma IL-10 concentration coincided with irAE onset in one patient.
Implications:
- Decreased IL-10 levels may contribute to irAEs following anti-CTLA-4 therapy.
- Further investigation into IL-10's role in irAEs is warranted.
