Summary

Endothelial function and vascular smooth muscle function are impaired in patients with early-stage kidney disease, even before significant renal decline. These findings highlight early vascular dysfunction in primary glomerulonephritis.

  • To evaluate endothelial function in the early stages of renal disease.
  • To investigate microvascular endothelial function in patients with primary glomerulonephritis.

  • Recruitment of patients with primary glomerulonephritis and healthy controls.
  • Assays for C-reactive protein (CRP), von Willebrand Factor (vWF), VCAM, and ICAM.
