Measuring the quality of care in radiation oncology

Abstract:
Quality care is one of the dominant issues in health care today. In this article, we will review the key concepts underlying quality measures and discuss how measures are developed and defined. We will next examine how these measures are currently being used and will conclude with some thoughts regarding the steps necessary to use quality measures to improve the quality of care in radiation oncology.
