Thyroid autoimmunity and recurrent spontaneous abortion in Iran: a case-control study

Thyroid antibodies, including thyroglobulin antibodies (TG-Ab) and thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPO-Ab), were more common in women with recurrent spontaneous abortions. Thyroid autoimmunity is linked to an increased risk of recurrent pregnancy loss.

- Thyroid autoimmunity is independently associated with an increased risk of recurrent abortion in this population.
- Findings suggest a potential role for thyroid autoimmunity screening in women with RSA.
