Antenatal depression predicts depression in adolescent offspring: prospective longitudinal community-based study

Maternal depression during pregnancy significantly increases offspring depression risk by 4.7 times, especially with repeated episodes. Early detection in pregnancy identifies at-risk mothers and children for adolescent depression.
