    • CSD was diagnosed in 164 patients, representing 10.6% of all dizzy patients seen.

    • Poor balance performance on dynamic posturography was observed in 79.0% of CSD patients.

    • CSD is a significant cause of dizziness, predominantly affecting women.
    • Anxiety is a major predisposing and potentially perpetuating factor in CSD.
    • The findings support the hypothesis of shared neurologic pathways between balance and emotion regulation.
