Novel xanthones from Securidaca longepedunculata with activity against erectile dysfunction

Two new xanthones from Securidaca longepedunculata effectively relax corpus cavernosal smooth muscle, supporting its traditional use for erectile dysfunction. One compound showed potent relaxation activity comparable to sildenafil.
