Abstract:
We present our dissection technique in the surgery of arteriovenous malformations of the brain. In the last 3 years, we have used sharp dissection of arachnoid tissue with microscissors and dissection of the nidus without coagulation procedures that have not been discussed in the literature. Using these techniques, we performed total resection in 28 patients. The outcomes were highly satisfactory among these patients: no mortality and only one major morbidity. Our results indicate the effectiveness of our resection method.
