Background:

Premature ejaculation (PE) is the most prevalent sexual dysfunction among men under 40.
Currently, no government-approved therapies exist for PE treatment.
The possibility of a cure for PE is under investigation.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore the potential for curing premature ejaculation (PE).
To stimulate discussion and further research into PE treatment.
To address a poorly understood area within sexual medicine.

Main Methods:

Expert opinions from four specialists in PE treatment were gathered.
The study involved a qualitative approach based on expert insights.
Discussions focused on differentiating PE types and their curability.

Main Results:

Lifelong PE may differ from acquired PE in treatment outcomes.
Some forms of PE, if curable, might not be true PE but related to anxiety.
A combined clinical and research approach is proposed to understand PE's biological, behavioral, and couple factors.

Conclusions:

Understanding the diverse types of PE and their underlying causes is key to improving treatment outcomes.
Further research into the etiology and pathophysiology of PE is needed.
Differentiating PE subtypes may hold the key to developing curable treatments.
