  • Restenosis from bare metal stents, embolism in old vein grafts, and coronary artery defects (rupture, perforation, aneurysm, fistula) remain significant interventional problems.
  • Stent grafts, incorporating a membrane into coronary stents, are being explored to address these limitations.

Findings:

  • Stent grafts show potential for preventing intraluminal proliferation, sealing degenerated vein grafts, and covering coronary artery perforations, aneurysms, and fistulas.
  • These devices demonstrate high success rates with acceptable acute complication profiles in case reports and reviews.
