Summary

A sacral rib, a rare bony anomaly, was discovered incidentally in a patient experiencing flank pain after a car accident. The patient opted against surgical intervention due to mild symptoms.

  • A 45-year-old male presented with right flank pain following a motor vehicle accident.
  • The patient's symptoms were vague, prompting a diagnostic pelvic radiograph.

  • The radiographic appearance was characteristic of a sacral rib, a rare anatomical variant.

  • The sacral rib was asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic, as indicated by the patient's vague complaints.
