Abstract
Background:
Women with ovarian cancer primarily present with advanced intra-abdominal disease, frequently involving the diaphragm.
Cases:
We present 2 cases of combined planned intra-thoracic and abdominopelvic radical cytoreduction for stage IV peritoneal malignancy.
Conclusions:
Our case report indicates the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach in treating patients with advanced-stage peritoneal disease. Multi-disciplinary surgical procedures can achieve optimal cytoreduction and possibly improve overall survival.
