The radical hysterectomy is often associated with severe bladder dysfunction and colorectal motility disorders. These issues may arise as a result of damage incurred to the motor and sensory autonomic nerve supply, both of sympathetic and parasympathetic origin, that innervate the uterus, vagina, urinary bladder, and rectum.
