  • To evaluate the effectiveness of a nursing practice guide in managing these patient encounters.

  • A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted in the Barcelona metropolitan area.
  • Patients seeking same-day spontaneous visits were included, with health problems categorized into three groups based on nurse-manageability.
  • Nurses managed 'group 1' problems, where protocols allowed for resolution by nursing staff.

  • 202 patients with 'group 1' problems were included, with a mean age of 36.3 years.
