Background:

The nasolabial flap is a versatile pedicled flap used in various facial reconstructions.
Its unique properties are advantageous for ala reconstruction but traditionally limit its use for nasal tip defects.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of modified nasolabial flaps in nasal tip reconstruction.
To assess the outcomes and complication rates of this technique.

Main Methods:

Review of 80 nasolabial flaps performed between 2002 and 2007.
Specific focus on 38 flaps used for partial or complete nasal tip reconstruction.
Postoperative photographic follow-up of all patients.

Main Results:

A low complication rate was observed, with only one flap loss out of 38.
