Isolated ventricular noncompaction in patients with chronic renal failure

Isolated ventricular noncompaction, a rare heart condition, was observed in two patients with chronic renal failure. Early diagnosis through regular echocardiography is crucial for managing this severe cardiac abnormality.

Background:

- Left ventricular cavity to recess blood flow was confirmed by Color Doppler.
- Patients exhibited arrhythmias: intermittent right bundle branch block (Case 1) and premature ventricular contractions (Case 2).
Implications:
- This highlights the importance of regular echocardiographic screening in CRF patients to detect cardiovascular comorbidities like IVNC.
- Early diagnosis and management, including anticoagulation, may improve outcomes for patients with IVNC and CRF.
- Further research is needed to understand the relationship between CRF and IVNC and its genetic underpinnings.
