Local preconditioning by thermal stress accelerates microvascular thrombus formation

Local stress conditioning, while inducing protective factors like heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1), paradoxically accelerates microvascular thrombus formation. This suggests stress preconditioning is not a viable strategy for preventing blood clots.
