A novel recombinant fusion protein combining thymosin alpha1 (TM-alpha1) and consensus interferon alpha (IFNalpha-con) was successfully produced in E. coli. This soluble fusion protein exhibits potent antiviral and lymphocyte-proliferating activities, outperforming existing treatments.
