Background:

Older adults require accessible and effective health information delivery.
Traditional presentation formats may not meet the needs of diverse elder populations.
Evaluating novel presentation methods is crucial for improving health literacy in seniors.

Purpose of the Study:

To compare the effectiveness of different information presentation formats for community-dwelling elders.
To determine older adults' preferences for visual and accessible health information.
To identify the optimal format for delivering health education to diverse elder groups.

Main Methods:

Thirty-four diverse elders participated in three 10-minute informational sessions.
Flip charts, overhead transparencies, and Microsoft PowerPoint were used as presentation formats.
Focus groups and rating scales assessed participant feedback on accessibility, novelty, and efficacy.

Main Results:

Participants overwhelmingly preferred the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation format.
PowerPoint was rated highest across all dimensions, including accessibility and visual appeal.
Qualitative feedback highlighted the superiority of digital presentation for older adults.

Conclusions:

Digital presentation software, specifically PowerPoint, is highly effective for health information delivery to older adults.
Tailoring information formats to elder preferences can enhance engagement and understanding.
