  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel transconjunctival 20-gauge vitrectomy (T20V) technique.
  • To assess T20V suitability for short-duration vitreous surgery.

  • A prospective study included 12 eyes of 12 patients undergoing T20V.
  • Indications included macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreous hemorrhage, and central retinal vein occlusion neurotomy.
  • Procedures were designed for short-duration vitrectomy.

  • Postoperative visual acuity improved significantly in most cases.
