Purpose of the Study:

  • Prospective study involving 325 elderly individuals who had fallen in the previous year.
  • Weekly follow-up for one year to record falls, circumstances, and consequences.

  • Neuromuscular and cognitive impairments are key factors influencing fall injury severity.
  • The specific circumstances of a fall, such as turning or using stairs, increase injury risk.
  • Fall prevention programs should consider individual impairments and environmental factors.
