Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Otolaryngology

Context:

  • Adenocarcinomas are the most prevalent tumors affecting the ethmoid bone.
  • Surgical resection is the sole curative option for these tumors.
  • Tumor extension necessitates extensive surgical removal.

Purpose:

  • To detail a surgical approach for ethmoid adenocarcinomas.
  • To outline the immediate reconstruction techniques for multi-level defects post-surgery.

Summary:

  • The Cairns and Moure-Sebileau approaches are utilized for wide tumor exeresis.
  • Reconstruction involves a three-level strategy: pericranial flap for dura mater, bone grafts for bone defects, and galea flap for mucosal defects.

Impact:

Related Experiment Videos
