Area of Science:

  • Dermatology
  • Oncology
  • Hematology

Background:

  • Cutaneous multilobated T-cell lymphoma (cML-TCL) is a rare subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma affecting the skin.
  • It typically presents as nodules in elderly individuals with a generally indolent clinical course.

Observation:

  • This report details a fatal case of cML-TCL in a patient who succumbed to the disease within two years of diagnosis.
  • The patient presented with characteristic cutaneous nodules.

Findings:

  • The observed rapid progression and fatal outcome challenge the conventional understanding of cML-TCL as a chronic condition.
  • This case highlights a potentially more aggressive clinical behavior than previously recognized.

Implications:

Related Experiment Videos

  • Clinicians should consider the possibility of aggressive cML-TCL, even in elderly patients.
  • Further research is warranted to identify prognostic markers and optimize treatment strategies for cML-TCL.
