Summary

Pick's disease (PD) does not significantly affect parvalbumin-immunoreactive (PV-Ir) neurons in the cerebral cortex. This contrasts with Alzheimer-type dementia (ATD), suggesting PV-Ir neuron damage may be selective for ATD brains.
