Abstract
Unlabelled:
Treatment of high undescended testes is a serious surgical problem.
Purpose:
To analyze the two-stage orchidopexy performed and the early results obtained.
Material And Methods:
Of 625 orchidopexy in 40 (6,4%) instances a two-stage orchidopexy was done for a 10 years period (1994-2003). The second operation is performed within 2 years after the first one. Scrotal fixation of the testis is achieved by Gross procedure.
Results:
The final success rate is 83,3%, satisfactory results in 13,9% cases and failure in 2,8%. We always prefer for this reason the two-stage orchidopexy as an alternative to orchiectomy.
