Abstract:
Tetraphenylarsonium tri-iodide has been prepared and its properties studied. On the basis of its stability and very low solubility a gravimetric method for the determination of mg amounts of iodine has been developed. The mean relative error for amounts of 1-6 mg is about +0.3%. CO(3)(2-). wSO(4)(2-). NO(3)(-) Cl(-)and Br(-) do not interfere.
