Synthesis and analytical capabilities of fluorogenic ring-substituted crown ethers
Abstract:
Fluorogenic crown ethers do not generally produce enough signal to be analytically useful. The incorporation of fluorogens in the crown ether ring can considerably increase the fluorescence intensity obtained on complexation, to 2-6 times that of the blank. The disadvantage is a loss of selectivity all the alkali metals being complexed by the fluorogenic compound obtained.
