A new reagent, N-(m-Methylphenyl)-N'-(sodium p-aminobenzenesulfonate)-thiourea (MMPT), enables sensitive and selective detection of platinum(IV). This method is rapid, convenient, and effective for analyzing platinum in ores and catalysts.
