Summary

Chondroid lipoma, a rare tumor, is exceptionally uncommon in children. This report details a unique case of chondroid lipoma in a 7-year-old, highlighting its rarity in pediatric patients.

Background:

Chondroid lipoma (CL) is a rare variant of lipoma.
Limited data exists on CL in pediatric populations, particularly in individuals under 14 years.

Observation:

A 7-year-old child presented with an unusual tumor.
The tumor's cut surface exhibited distinct tan-brown and yellow-white coloration.

Findings:

Histopathological examination revealed eosinophilic, vacuolated round-to-oval spindle cells.
These cells were embedded within a myxo-hyaline stroma, consistent with chondroid lipoma.

Implications:

This case underscores the extreme rarity of chondroid lipoma in young children.
