Plasma lipids and inflammation in active inflammatory bowel diseases

In patients with active ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), cholesterol levels were lower and linked to inflammation. Phospholipid fatty acid (FA) composition also correlated with systemic inflammation.
