Diagnostic approaches against pulmonary hypertension, including symptom evaluation, screening for high-risk patients, and examination of incidental findings, were reviewed before the subsequent echocardiographic diagnosis for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Although whether the early diagnosis of asymptomatic PAH improve the prognosis of such patients is currently unknown, early intervention with lifestyle management and newly-introduced oral compounds might improve the prognosis in PAH. Multidisciplinary approaches and clinical practice pertinent to PAH is important for the early diagnosis of this disorder.
