CD8+ T-cells mediate immunopathology in tick-borne encephalitis

This study reveals that CD8(+) T-cells drive the severe inflammation in tick-borne encephalitis, a significant cause of human epidemics. Reducing these immune cells prolonged survival in infected mice, highlighting immunopathology in this disease.
